Yeah, i’m aware this is coming out on the Wii too, but seriously does this game stand a chance? A family friendly kart racer hasn’t ever been successfully attempted on the 360 and you cannot find ONE person who doesn’t like Mario Kart! Don’t even try!

Entertaining a pretty fantastic cast of characters including major players from the Sonic series as well as more obscure characters from games like Super Monkey Ball, Shenmue, Banjo Kazooie and more, the game definitely seems pretty stacked. Everyone can find someone they would want to play as.

As far as level design, the levels designed based on various Sega games look pretty neat and translate well into racetracks. Taking from the underrated Nintendo 64 game Diddy Kong Racing, the game also isn’t kart exclusive; allowing players to race in karts, off-roaders, motorbikes and hovercrafts. This maintains some variety in the often repetitive racing game experience.

The game has customizable multiplayer options that support up to four players in offline splitscreen and eight player online races. By playing through the game, you can unlock “Sega Miles”, the in-game currency used to buy additional characters, racetracks, art and songs.

Can this game contend with the hordes of realistic racing games on the Xbox 360? We won’t know until we get a chance to play. With the demo now available on Xbox Live, expect a demo impression by us sometime this week!
